As I was saying last week, everyone's got football fever right now! But as much as I like to watch football, I don't necessarily want to play it. If you feel the same, don't worry: Tailgate Toss offers some family-friendly alternatives to get you outside with your kids (even if you don't understand all the rules of football).

Football Bolo Toss is a simple backyard game that you and your kids will enjoy. This is how the game works: each team has three football bolo throw toys and each team takes turns throwing. Every time your football bolo toy lands on a rung you earn points(each rung scores different points). Pretty simple, right? No complicated rules, no tackling (!), but plenty of opportunities for some good, old fashioned family competition.

The game includes two metal goal posts, four goal post flags, two goal post pads, six team colored football bolo throw toys and game and assembly instructions. Aren't the goal posts cute? It's easy to assemble and take apart and even easy to store. It's recommended for ages eight and up.

This would be a big hit at a football themed birthday party. The game is designed for 2 to 4 players but you could easily organize a mini tournament if you had more kids playing. It could end with a "Birthday Bowl"--and bowls of ice cream for all the competitors, of course.
